I am new at this, so I have been reading through the questions and answers and am amazed at the new words, and phrases I have learned. Example: I have never heard of Mamogram Cancer, but I have heard of Mammory, or breast cancer. You are given an option to edit or make corrections before you submit, don't people care wheather they sound inteligent or not?

I did misspell 3 words as pointed out to me, but I chose what I thought was the spell check, unfortunately I now know it only checks the actual question. But I did edit my question details before submiting it. I trusted the web site when I shouldn't have. I'm bad

Not everyone on here speaks English as a 1st language.

Also, I don't use the spell checker on here as it insists on Americanising spellings.

PS: Check your own spelling "wheather" "inteligent"

Did it ever occur to you that they may not know proper grammar and structure?? This is an indcation that an article I read some years back has some validity in its overall massage-- The competency rate for American teachers is an embarassing 40% and that of that 40% only 2/3 will be able to meet recertification requirements.

I do, however, still maintain hope that the phrase "It takes an entire village to raise a child" can bring a fresh perspective to American culture as well as contribute to the solution for the problem.

Shirley B. I'm sorry that these jerks didn't take your question seriously. I agree with you, with a little effort they could improve their spelling and phrases and at least seem intelligent. But with a little experience you will see that the ones making fun of you now will do it over and over again. It's the same jerks. You will notice that it's the same ones that are so angry about their politics as well. It's sad that we have this place that you can question or answer but these people feel compelled to pollute it with their childish humor or lack thereof.

Well..some people just don`t know how to write eloquently..and some don`t care..I also have seen questions that have made no sense to me..but obviously they do to the asker. You might enjoy the education category..and try to overlook the lack of editing..if you can`t decipher what it means..choose another question. There are soo many different kinds of people on here and we all come from different places..lighten up a little..good luck

2 reasons. First, most are to lazy to spell check. Second there are some truly stupid people that answer questions on here. By stupid, I mean they have no idea what they are talking about, but think they know everything. And by the way, I think they need to upgrade the spell check so it checks everything you type, not just some of it.

I always double check my Q's & A's before submitting them. As for the spell check, I don't rely on it so much because, it's geared towards the American way of spelling, therefore I would have to misspell alot of words in order for them to be spelt right haha!

I think some people don't care. Some people are too much in a hurry and don't reread what they do before they submit their questions. English isn't some people's native tongue and don't know how to speak it well, so they don't know how to spell correctly. Some people get confused with words and don't realize they used a word incorrectly.

Yes, and whether is spelt differently to weather, but you mixed and matched, too!
And haven't you heard? Time! It's a comodity now- and a darn real expensive one!
No smelling of roses round here anymore! Get used to it- roses aren't even budding as much anymore!
We're all like the White Rabbit in the Matrix/Alice in Wonderland, but no one wants to be Neo/Alice, so we entice others to our cult to see if they have what it takes. And so we are let down, once again, and again...if you know what I mean!?

I can honestly say, Shirley-B, that you ain't seen nothin' yet!!!

This site has improved greatly over what it once was. Every now and then, however, some of the old crowd slips back in. At least, now, you can get the gist of what someone is trying to ask--at one time, that was practically impossible.
