Choreography is quite a good profession to take up as more and more people these days are taking up dance or dance related jobs, as a profession and may need a choreographer's help. In choreography you can work your way up, especially if you are committed and hard working in what you do. Depending where you work and the type of choreographer you are, you can earn quite a large sum of money and who knows one day you might be working with celebrities! Furthermore if you like it then it would probably be an enjoyable and enthusiasm filled profession. This is what i know and think. I hope this helped!

It is a great profession but you need another job too. You can not depend only on that. If you are working for a famous person then you will make a lot but if not your only going to make like up to $500 for each dance with no benifits. That does not add up to much at all if you are on your own.

A talented choreographer will work a lot. Besides options with dance companies and theatrical companies you can choreograph wedding and special dances for individuals, teach dance, teach ballroom (which is VERY popular at the moment) as well as work with gymnasts, skaters, cheer teams, pom teams, etc.
Does it come with benefits such as medical, etc.? Probably not, so at least for a while, keep your day job until your career is launched.
Oh, by the way, becoming a choreographer means you have extensive dance training, know how to construct dance movements, etc.
