Give yourself some time to heal without serious dating or even sex. Take up a hobby and go out with girlfriends. You should give it three to six months; otherwise you will be carrying "baggage" as they say and the person you are with will know it. Also, when you start dating, do not under any circumstances start talking about your old relationship and trash your ex...the guy you are with doesn't have to know your past. Alot of girls make that mistake...and it is definitely a mistake. If he asks you if you have ever had a serious relationship, say yes but a long time ago; then say you have just dated casually and have gone out with friends alot. I wish you well.

Timelines? Well, since you can't force a new relationship (or any relationship for that matter), I didn't even "look". It took about three years for another intimate relationship to develop. I do not recommend sleeping around for the heck of it 'cause nothing good ever comes out of it...dangerous these days, too.

the only factor that i'm able to recommend is which you will chat to Brad and be completely honest alongside with your emotions and ideas. If he honestly understands the style you experience approximately him and that there could actually be of venture that this relationship ought to artwork - then I say decide for it! i think of it would be somewhat significant which you will enable him recognize that there's a danger of a reconciliation between your mothers and dads and him. have you ever informed him approximately how your mothers and dads are open to having dinner with you and Brad? If no longer, i might somewhat accomplish that (on the instant). i think of that the two one among you may desire to look at the extraordinary factor (that it somewhat is something effective). i wish that as quickly as you talk to him that he would be prepared to furnish your relationship yet another risk. as quickly as you have laid all your enjoying cards on the table...you will locate out the place you stand (proverbially speaking, the ball would be in his court docket). If for some reason he has given up all wish and nonetheless feels that the relationship could desire to no longer bypass any further, then a minimal of you recognize which you attempted...which you gave it your all. If he's prepared to fulfill alongside with your mothers and dads and convey regret for his shabby habit in direction of your sister...properly then it rather is great! it would somewhat be a step interior the the suited option course. I wish you the suited of success and that i pray that each little thing works out with you and your boyfriend! : )

Time line? It's more like a period of looking it all over...there were self-doubts, of course. In some cases it was a matter of weeks, and sometimes a decade.
It depends on the individual. And, I think, who did the breaking up would have alot to do with it also.
If you are looking for a general rule, I don't believe there is one.
