i like urself have always bit my nails and im 28 so 2 mths ago i had extensins put on and now have lovely long finger nails and all its cost me is 30 pound

I bit my nails until I was 21. The way I quit was by slowly weaning myself off of it. First I stopped biting my pinky nails... let them grow out a little... then I quit biting my nails on my ring fingers... let them grow out a bit.... and just continued that until I had completely stopped biting them.
It takes time and patience... if you find yourself nibbling get up and do dishes or clean something until your mind is off your nails.

Try trimming your nails super short, so you can't bite them. I know most people want lovely long nails, but they look worse when you bite them. Then when you are used to not biting your nails, you can grow them out again. It worked for me. Good luck to you!

I know there are special nail polish for this problem. You can find them probably even at the supermarket.
I am older than you and I am still biting mine (hope this is of comfort).

Do you have someone you spend alot of time with? if so have them tell you everytime you start chewing your nails. You probably don't even notice you are doing it.
If they bring it to your attention often, you will stop.

A good friend of mine told me that biting his nails was how he got aa pinworm infestation (look it up on wikipedia!). That pretty much did it for me.

Go spend alot of money on getting your nails done. That should do it.

I SO RELATE TO YOU!!! i bit my nails and cuticles so bad they bleed-- i can't offer any advice other than when i actually get my nails done-- and they have acrilic on them.. i don't bit them... but when they are bare-- i bit like crazy =(

im also in early 20's and havent kicked the habit!
try to keep them painted.... it works for me... well at least till i take the polish off ~{ :

Get acrylic nails. You can't bite your own nails then.
