Why do you think you have it first of all? Have you stopped eating healthy meals? Do you constantly exercise? Have people told you that you are thin and you think you're fat? If you are over 5 ft tall and weigh under 100 lbs. then you are definitely underweight and should talk to someone about what to do....as anorexia is as much a state of mind as it is about being too thin.
There aren't too many of us that are 100% happy with our bodies but that doesn't make us anorexic. It actually makes us strive to exercise (which we should be doing anyway) & eating healthier meals. Talk to a doctor. I'm glad you are scared because that means you want help.

your not scared of the consequences, you know what that will be, either you will start eating and get healthy, or you will die of starvation. your scared of what people will think of you, that they will either not take you serious or that there is something wrong with you. nobody is going to come up to you and ask you, you need to be the one to say something. your better than this, you dont need to let it take over, you should talk to a friend or someone that you can trust. and your not alone, look at society today, everyone is like a twig, they dont get that way by eating right. dont worry about what you look like, just your value of life. i used to be in the same boat as you when i was in highschool and then shortly after, i was very thin and hardly ever ate. and my friends were worried about me, but yet i never was worried about myself because i didnt consider myself anorexic, i would eat a little occasionally to not get sick. but my friends called me on it, and i remember that day still. you have people that love you and will help you through this. all you have to do is be strong, the mind is very powerful, if you dont want to live like this, you dont have to either let your friends help you, or get some help, but either way you need to do something before its too late.

If U R anorexic, talk to one of your closest friends that u can trust, tell this friend what your problem is and tell this friend that u need their support to help u overcome this DISEASE. If they will support u take them with u to the DOCTOR ASAP!!!! If they don't want to be involved, take yourself to the DOCTOR ASAP!! From what I know u have to stay at a clinic until u r able to function on your own with out making urself worse. PLEASE! the only consequences u should be worried about is DEATH!... U must not want to die if u are on this site trying to get some help! Put all your fears aside and help urself don't depend on anyone to do it for you. As you recuperate read some books on self esteem and build yours up so u can be more confident in yourself. Be safe!

If you :
Deliberate self-starvation with weight loss
Fear of gaining weight
Refusal to eat
Denial of hunger
Constant exercising
Greater amounts of hair on the body or the face
Sensitivity to cold temperatures
Absent or irregular periods
Loss of scalp hair
A self-perception of being fat when the person is really too thin
You are anorexic. I recommend telling at least the people closest to you, so that they can help you. It will be difficult, but like others, you can overcome this. Good luck!

I pray that as soon as you read the first reply that said to ask for help you turned the computer off and did so. If not, then do it now.
Consequences of not telling anyone is the BIG problem. Get to a doctor, don't just talk to family and friends who may say "Oh don't worry, everything will be ok", be sure of it.

Please get some help right away, don't waste more time thinking about it, the sooner the better. Don't be afraid of consequences, sometimes we have to face the facts bad or good , that' the only way we can move on in life and sometimes mistakes help us to know what is right or not and later we can make the difference

Tell somebody you trust - if you can't tell your mom, try a school counselor, or a teacher that you trust, or a good friend who you know will help you. You need therapy and professional treatment, so you can get over the sick idea that you need to be thin.
But remember, admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery! So there is hope!!
Good luck - and I hope you get well soon!!!!

Is there anyone you have an easier time talking to and can trust? Teacher, friend, sibling, coach...etc.? It is a common illness to go through, I did in high school. I ended up very sick. You need to seek help, the only consequence of you seeking help, is getting healthy!

The consequences of NOT telling someone is DEATH. I know because I lost a dear friend to Anorexia in 1985 because she too afraid to tell anyone until it was too late. Don't let it get too late.

you need to seek professional help that is confidential even from parents, teachers and peers. or telling a friend may be thebest thing for you. i battled it with some friends of mine for a couple years and nobody knew it. its still a painful memory for them. but its uplifting when you overcome it. people you trust will want to help you as i did for my friends.
