Where is the harm, in having more than one spouse.

I don't agree with polygamy and do not think it should be legal.
When you speak about the Mormon tradition, there are concerns that there is no protection for the second/third/etc wives. They are given no rights, as there marriages aren't considered to be legal, so they are given a religious ceremony with no legal backbone. Therefore, if anything ever happened, they would not be protected by the government's standard of marriage. Most of them have been brought up to think that polygamy is how marriage should work, so they don't know any better.

I believe polygamy is disgusting and should stay illegal. I'm sorry but having more than one spouse just doesn't seem right! When you get married, you should be so totally in love with that person, not that person and your neighbor.

I don't know. It doesn't really bother me , there are so many worse things in the world now in my opinion. I'd never accept it, and I think it's degrading especially for females. why is it always a male with a bunch of chicks and not the other way round? but hey to each their own. Problem is many times women are forced to accept this situation (as in some Islamic countries).

On the logic of the pro-gay marriage crowd, bigamy, poligamy, and group marriage should be allowed.
Then we could have marriage structures that look like something out of a Chemistry book. That should help destroy the nuclear family (and Western civilization with it).

Don't worry..just becasue it's not legal shouldn't stop you from making love with exponential amounts of woman. I think it should stay illegal however, imagine having to deal with more than one American woman!!
In Egypt you can have four wives, strictly based upon a mans income...nothing else. If woman here were still as submissive as they were in the old days....didn't speak like they do in Egypt....and did as they were told...having many wives would an ideal situation.

only if one is male and one is female, for the bisexual group of america, but both should have to consent, the other spouse and the one about to be married.

No. Polygamy even in the Mormon church and in Utah is illegal. Although some point to biblical references with "condone" it,...only small Fundamentalist Mormon sects still practice it,..ILLEGALLY.
