I have brought a toshiba laptop with vista installed and i find the screen sometimes flickers. not alot, but for example it does it when i play solitare. It is the first laptop i have had because i usually use normal computers. is it a problem or is it something laptops do?

it's a problem. First look around, any big speakers near where you play solitaire? Magnets are heck on PC's. I would say flourescent lighting and all but that is more CRT monitors.... flicker may be caused by an improper refresh rate - try right clicking the desktop > select settings tab, advanced button at the bottom and click through the next windows tabs until you see referesh rate... should be monitor tab I think.... set it to 60 or 75 hertz..... see if that helps.

well look around and make sure there are no speakers around. second I have a toshiba and it has XP on it but if flikers every once in a while too. and my dad just bought a Sony with windows vista on it and it flikers too. so I'm assuming its just the laptops.

please note Window Vista has only been out for less then a month so it still has miner glitches. so you need to update it by going online every once in a while and let it get it updates.
