i did the same thing to my cell phone and it works now because my dad...
1- take the battery out
2- blow dry the hole where u put the charger
3- blow dry the battery and the place where it goes
4- blow dry the keypad

my works now but the inside and outside screens don't light up you can only see them under lights.

Good luck!

It is very probable that the phone is ruined. However, I have heard of some people dipping the phone in rubbing alcohol and then immediately removing it, for some reason the alcohol seems to allow the water to evaporate faster, this should be done just after it was washed. I work for a cellular phone company, and if the phone went through all cycles of washing, the phone is most likely ruined. Sorry. :(

The cell phone is probably damaged completely. I don't think it will work after drying out. Water got inside the cell phone, and the parts inside are also damaged. See if you can get a new one, and she may not even know. I would hate to find out what your daughter would do if she finds out that you accidently washed it.

eeek! what type of phone is it? if its a fairly simple phone then it might be alright when it dries out, but if it has more complicated electronics then it might be dead.

you can buy pay as you go phones quite cheaply so if all else fails will be able to buy a new one for £30 odd. the sim card i'm quite sure will be alright so if all her contacts are saved on there rather than the phone she shouldnt have lost anything.

My son dropped my phone in a lake. After we towel dried gently, air dried for a while, it worked fine. Good luck - our phone wasn't washed and spun.
