hey logan it has nothing to do with communism. I guess it is just a matter of education. That word is abused so much in the lyrics of rap songs. I distinguish a bad taste of self degradation and the loss of dignity. My personal opinion refers to these entertainers promoting low self esteem, auto degradation loss of self respect.
Banning may not be the answer, education is the best choice.

The N word was around before you were born and it will remain for a very long time. Banning the N word would be tantamount to banning the word hello. The N word is part of the black community's way of addressing one another. It is sad however that we, as a people, had to adopt a word for ourselves that has racial connotations attached to it.

I think the word should be banned. I have never understood why they adopted that word and made it their own to begin with. I know that hearing that word as a child (I'm Sicilian-not black) it would make me cringe. The meaning of the word itself is very degrading. I think all insults should be banned, but that's just my opinion. Thanks and may GOD bless.

i don't think a word could ever really be banned- that doesn't make any sense. how would the ban be enforced? it could only really be banned from television and that isn't revolutionary, it is seldom heard on tv anyway

if we let them ban this word. then they would be able to ban any other word they choose. the first amendment says that you can say anything u want if it doesn't start a unlawful problem.

I hate the word too.
I understand the rappers attempt to "own" the word by using it in their songs, but then they get all upset when others use it. They can't have it both ways.
Banning it has to start from the grass roots & I'm all for them doing it.

All this has proven is that the supreme court will and are taking away our freedom of speech. that word was forbidden for the majority of us anyway....and only now certain ppl are allowed to use it.....this decision affects me in either way....But I guess we will all now see who the ones are that use that word more frequently.....will we be surprised.......no.
