I dont take naps. I eat a small snack and drink a small drink 2 hrs before bedtime. All I can get is 6 hrs sleep at best. I still feel I need more. Two hours after I awake, I feel I can sleep another 2 hours or so but I force myself not to because it will throw me off for the next night. The goal is to get 8 hours non stop sleep. Any suggestions

You might try melatonin slow release tablets for a month. Melatonin is a natural hormone that regulates sleep patterns. It is not a sleeping pill or drug, and it is available over the counter at the pharmacy. Best of all, it's cheap!

Your sleep pattern is affected by other aspects of your lifestyle. If you're not exercising, start. It will give you more energy during the day and help you sleep better at night. Also, make sure you go to bed at the same time every night and wake up the same time every morning. Even if you're not tired at night, get into bed. Eventually you'll condition your body and you should be able to experience the sleep pattern you desire. Still having trouble, see your doctor.

I have the same issue.... can't fall asleep, when I do, I wake up after a few hours... can't fall back to sleep, then when I do... I am dead to the world and it is impossible to get up. For awhile I was only sleeping like 2 hours combined all night... horrible.

I spent $3,500 bucks at a sleep clinic to find out that my brain never really turns off at night. They gave me Ambien Cr as a sleep aide.. it knocks me out and I can sleep for about 6 to 7 hours, max.... I still feel tired much of the day, but its better than before.

Try getting a sleep aide. I feel your pain, bro... good luck.

I have similar problems, except I can't sleep when I first try, either. You need to try a prescription sleep pill, they have them now where they aren't addictive and they last up to 8 hours to help you stay asleep. They help you get back on track and then when you feel comfortable with your sleep pattern you should be able to stop taking them with no problems

Best thing to do is go to bed @ the same time every night and get up @ the same time every day. You have to train your body. Please try to get at least 7 hours of sleep.
