This morning i posted a question about how i got a horrible pain in my lower back that was the worst pain i have ever felt. This pain happened to me 3 nigths ago too. Its in my lower back and goes all the way down to my thighs. It makes it worse if i try to move or anything.. Well 20 minutes later they jsut all of a sudden stopped?!? I dont know what it is, and i really want to know. I am a first time mommy and i have no clue what anything feels like or what anything is.
I went to labor & delivery yesterday, they said i was 1 cm dialated and cervix was thinning out. I Already went through the whole nesting stage.
Also today i dont feel that great. Like i am just so out of it.

Any info from anyone would be great.. Thanks!

I am 35 weeks and 5 days pregnant..

I went thrrough this same thing and the doc told me that it is the baby dropping and it pulles on the mucles in your lower back and abdomen. Which hurts like hell by the way, and only last 10-20 min. It is a sign that you are getting ready to have that baby congrats.

Those pains could have been the baby in an awkward position. The baby's feet could have been stuck between some muscles and when the pain stopped they got into a better position.

Or it could have been a contraction as they start few and far between.

If the pain happens again try getting on all fours to have the baby drop a bit away from your back.

Well, maybe you should talk with your doctor. I have terrible pains in my back and I am a mother of two. They say the pain medication they give you in your back can cause the pain but if you haven't had your baby yet you should talk with your doctor. After I had my baby I would get pains in my back and they would go all around into my stomach and all I could do was curl up in a little ball and lay there or get in a HOT bath tub full of water and it helped a little. Good Luck!

If it goes down the back of your leg it could be sciatica, which is commen back pain which shoots down your sciatic nerve down your legs. Not completely unexpected with you being so close to term and all your muscles, ligaments etc relaxing in preparation. Does sound like you are getting ready to pop!
Don't worry about it - have the baby and then worry about it!

It sounds to me like sciatica, it is when the baby lays on the sciatic nerve and it causes a pain to shoot from your back to the back of your legs. It is really painful I have woken up with this and couldn't even walk. Your doc might be able to give you something for it.

Have they checked you for any other problems, my friend was pregnant and she had pains like that. She could not even move, she went to the emergency room and had a kidney infection.. Start trying water and non caffienated drinks and see if it stops, if not go to the doctor or er and get checked out, you may have kidney stones or another problem that could be worse

It sounds like part of the baby is hitting or pinching your sciatic nerve. When i herniated a disk in my back, it pinched that nerve and i had tremendous pain in my back that radiated down my leg and into my toes. It would come and go as described. It's possible the baby moves around and part of it is pinching your nerve termporaraliy.

Sounds to me that your body is getting ready for the big day. Also your baby is about 6 to 8 lbs so your going to start having or you should have all them pains all normal .

Possibility that your baby is facing the wrong way(not breach just head turned opposite way then supposed to come out)? You might have back labor, but I am sure your doctors would have told you that by now.

According to my high school anatomy teacher, it is easy and relatively common for a woman to break her coccyx or tailbone after giving birth. I don't know if it can actually happen prior to actually giving birth, but I just thought I'd throw it out there...
