I know this movie was basically one giant parody of a bunch of the funniest movies made within recent years, but there was one part I didn't pick up on the relevance. Remember when Julia goes back to the little hitch guys place and starts dancing, then hitch says she sucks and then she starts dancing all crazy with her face painted?? What the heck was that all about??? It seems like the movie was parodying something, I just don't know what it is. Thanks.

That parody skit is of from the film documentary by David LaChapelle calle "RIZE", which is about the dances called Clowning and Crunkin or Crump something like that, which is a type of dance that is popular here in Southern Cali. The film show how the dances started and how they became popular. They have competitions and the guys and girls dress up crazy and paint designs on all or part of their face and basically dance against each other. Watch the movie and you'll understand.

There's also a skit on MadTV featuring cast members Jordan Peele and Crista Flanagan as a dancing group called "The Hype Jingleberry" and they demonstrate their "krump" style of dancing. There was even a bit where Alyson Hannigan guest starred on MadTV to "learn" how to krump for her movie.

It was parodying the movie, "RIZE". That one film that followed a bunch of crump dancers and their lives.
