You do that by disconnecting the power cord first.

Open the computer case, go to the back where the screw it screwed into the small box where all the color strings run from.

Do your unscrewing and replace with another power supply. Be sure that every power adapters go back to the hardware or you might have a major problem.

Can you tell me what is the specification of the power supply that you are trying to install?

I would like to know the Brand, Wattage, and the Ouput +12v .

Note to above comment, getting a higher watts is not the correct way. Getting the right +12v a is the key of good quality power source.

BTW!!!

I have installed a power supply and other parts, for those people who doesn't know a thing about putting a computer together.

Hi. Select a new power supply based on what you expect to add. Usually a PSU in the 450 watt range is adequate. Remove the old PSU by disconnecting all of the cables (unplugged of course). There are four screws holding in the PSU on the back, assuming a desktop. Switch out the old PSU for the new. Reconnect the power cables. They will all have plugs that only fit where they are supposed to go. Double check. Plug in and test everything.
