Yes you do need to set the jumpers but you also need to make sure the bios is set for a second drive as well. As long as bios sees it then you should be able to see it in Windows. If not, click on your start menu, then RIGHT click on "My Computer", then click on manage. Another window will pop up and on the right side you will need to click on Disk Managment. Then look on the left side close the the bottom and you should see your second drive with black line around it. Right click on it and select "Create new Partition" and just keep clicking nest from there.

sure u can do that for that u need to connect the hard disk with the computer using the spare power cable and data cable inside the PC. You can unplug the cables which are plugged into back of the CD-ROM.carefully unplug the cable from the CD-ROM and plug it in the respective slots in the back of the hard disk and only one of them can be the primary hard disk and in order to make sure that between the power cable and data cable there will be a black colored jumper if u want to boot with the hard disk which was already fitted in the computer then you need put the jumper in the pin slot over which u have M (MASTER) written and on the other it should be the pin which has S (SLAVE) written over it and vice versa.

If you add a second hard drive to your computer, it will be assigned its own "letter" (like your current hard drive is C:, your CD drive is probably D: ). You would simple click on the letter for that drive, and you can access it.

It can be used to store data files (Music, videos, etc) and to install programs or games.

Hi. Yes. On the back are jumpers labeled MA, SL, and CS. Two drives on the same data cable need to have one drive's jumper on MA (master) and the other drive's jumper on SL (slave).
