Hi guys, well im due in 2 weeks and i really like the name Ashton, the problem is that my brother is called Ashley, do you think they sound to similar? thanks xx

well if it helps at all, my name is ashley and i was going to name my little boy ashton or asher. i think you should name your son ashton for sure! and kudos to your parents for naming their son ashley. i know it's really a guy's name but these days you only hear it as a girl's name. good luck.......there's nothing like a little one!!!

it does sound similar but its not bad. in fact people might think that you named him after your brother, which maybe you dont consider a good thing i dont know. my sister wants to name her next girl emma and mine is very close to that, and i didnt really like the idea. because if you shorten names then we would have the same, im just being a baby about it im sure. if your bro doesnt care, then go for it, if its the name you really like.
