I love those shows (well, except L&O)...but no. They are not accurate. Using CSI as an example..you can't solve a crime in a few days. Those DNA tests and autopsies and other tests they do take weeks in reality to get results. And ever notice when a crime is committed and they process the scene, whether it's a house or a car, the scene is immaculate except for what pertains to the crime? So one little hair in the carpet can be evidence? Geez, if they processed my car or house, they'd be there for months sorting out every little strand of fiber or crumb or stickiness.
And in hospitals (GA and House) there's not that much excitement on a day to day basis. It's usually the same ole same ole and not some bizarre uncurable disease that walks in every day.

Actually CSI has been proven to be very accurate. They use law enforcement consultants to help accuracy. But the biggest part of it that isn't is the fact that, in the real world, the CSI's don't do as much of their own lab work as they do on the show.

I think they come pretty close. The popular TV shows hire a consultant to ensure that they're ideas come out close to the real thing but in the end I am sure they add a little more drama or a bit of un-reality to make it more entertaining.

I would say the closet would be Law and Order but even then they solve a crime every episode somehow I think that crimes are not solved that fast usually. But they are the most realistic.
I mean House are you kidding me with that?

Maybe in a vague way but at the end of it they are television programmes and are given scripts to make them interesting to viwers, so that it gets good ratings and the series will continue, meaning everyine gets more money.
