ok, this is my 5th pregnancy and my youngest is 6 months old and my oldest is 5. I am 6 almost 7 weeks and my stomach is bloated and I am getting love handles. I am like WOW this is nuts. Has anyone had this issue and gained weight in the beginning? Also I have one girl and 3 boys. My oldest is a girl. I really want a girl but will be happy with whatever I get. Just wondering what symptoms people had with girls? thanks

Hi hun first of all CONGRATS on your Pregnancy!! Well the week before i found out i was pregnant i was actually looking in to joining weight watchers because i felt like i just got this belly out of no where and i felt as if no matter how much I wanted to I couldn't suck it in LOL! Then I found out i was 5 weeks pregnant!! Then I went for my first ultrasound and I find out that I was having Twins!!! This doesn't necessarily mean that you are having multiples I know that after your first baby you tend to be bigger for the following ones I just wanted to share my experience with you. I wish you the best of luck!!!!!!

Don't worry - each pregnancy is different, your body is reacting quite normally, it knows exactly what to do after 4 children!!

I gained a lot of weight in the beginning with my second pregnancy, I was already in maternity clothes at 15 weks! However, it slowed down after that, and my weight has gradually gone up as normal. Unless you keep putting on weight this fast all the way through, you should be fine!

With my first, I put on a lot of weight, but it was all at the end of my pregnancy (my first was a boy).

Of course you are always happy with what you get, but if you are the same as me, the rapid weight gain in the first trimester was with my girl... I also had more symptoms, nausea etc... with my girl.

Good luck and congrats!

oohh girl, I have 3 kids and gained a large amount of weight with my third, child. I think it's normal to gain more weight, each time you are pregnant.
My problem was, that I felt sick a lot of the time, except when I ate. So, I was eating all the time! Not good.....
And then because I gained so much weight I wasn't able to excercise, or get around like I was used too, so that made it worse! It was a vicious cycle!
It's been a year, since I had my son, and I have struggled with my weight. So be careful, how much you gain, because it will be really hard to lose it once the pregnancy is over!
And having 5 kids will make it almost impossible to get time to yourself for excercising! I get no "me" time with my 3!!!
Happy & healthy pregnancy

I am 27 weeks pregnant with a girl...I was extremely bloated in the beginning! I also gained a lot of weight in the beginning because I had to quit smoking when I found out. I also had to quit my prescription medication for Adult ADD (which is a stimulant that naturally causes you to lose weight without trying)..so the pounds kinda just came on...Now at 27 weeks i've gained a total of 30 pounds. I wouldn't worry about it though. Just try to be healthy, eat sensibly, and excercise...don't look at the pounds too hard! :)

Good luck!

Every child is going to carry differently as far as I know. There are no actuall symptoms as to wether you are carrying a boy or a girl. Most peoples bodies are very different, and will be different with each pregnancy. Watch what you eat, and how much you eat at each sitting. Try eating more healthy foods, rather than fast foods. I do not know how your diet is, but eating real greasy or starchy foods could be a possible reason for your accessive weight gain.
