On the hypocrisy scale it is hardly a major issue. Remember John Major promoting Victorian Values while having an affair.
Prescott should get an honour for giving all short, fat, ugly old men some inspiration.

Certainly not. The entire affair, at least according to "Confessions of a Diary Secretary" seems to have been positively encourage by Tracey Temple. Good for her for having such a wonderful fling and getting to all the right bashes and for getting £250,000 for her diary stories from the press.
I watched "Confessions of a Diary Secretary" and laughed my head off all the way through. The Prescott character was spot on, especially when Trace was bashing plates down on the dinner table when Tone and Gord came round for 'dinner'. The Prescott character hardly noticed and just dug into his pudding smothered in cream. Brilliant.
I've always liked John Prescott - he came from nothing much, a ship's steward and rose to become DPM. Then at the last election [I think] there was that wonderful punch up somewhere in North Wales, when a farmer threw an egg at him and he responded with the fastest left hook you've ever seen. That's my boy. They both ended up on the deck brawling. Brilliant. It brought an otherwise dull election to life. The 18th century is still with us then! Apparently, if you live in the world of JP.
Do please remember that John Prescott was the boxing champion of the Merchant Navy. The Bruiser is his parliamentary nickname.

He absolutely ought to pass. I heard him being interviewed this morning on the Radio and he became requested if he had the different affairs than the only all of us study. He would not answer the question! flesh presser or no longer fairly you answer that question! So how lengthy now until eventually the Newspapers %. up on that and locate out the info! he's a humiliation to the country.

If the man had any honour he would have done. He probably persuaded himself,if he resigned it would be bad for the country/the labour party(more likely). The man his an incompetent oaf.He has wasted BILLIONS of pounds of tax payers money, and his still doing so.

No, no no, he should've resigned a long time before that, in fact it says even more about Blair's judgement than backing GWB that he made this man Deputy PM anyway. It beggars belief. And how could you watch that programme anyway? Even the trailer made me feel quesy.

If he has a bit on the side and then gets caught because she tells all for money, so what? He's NBG as a DPM whether or not he does that, and in any case, JUST WHAT HAS HE BEEN DOING RECENTLY - he's hardly in the headlines for doing good work - or indeed ANY work - is he!

It doesn't seem fair that she was punished so much more severely than he was, but I don't see the sense in sacking someone for having an affair. I watched the programme last night (wasn't pleasant in places was it!) and if it happened as it looked it the programme, then he really did abuse his position didn't he.

No. His private life should have nothing to do with his job. Why didn't Sven Goran Eriksson quit after his affair with Faria Alam?
