I just want to get a feel for the reaction of fans. As a big baseball fan myself, I am joyed at the idea of such an amazing sport has such an impact globally. (Look at the WBC)

If they've got guys who want to play and fans to support them, why not?

Kinda indifferent. Why does it have to make national news if somewhere wants to start baseball. I think it would be great, I mean sure, another team for the World Baseball Classic....but we dont know yet how well that is going to catch on, which begs the question, is there going to be enough backing in Israel to withstand starting a professional sport? I would hate to see them "kinda try" and then have it fade out. I guess I just dont get all the hype about possibly starting it up. Ask again when it gets going.

It's america's game, if they want to play it ok, I won't watch it just like I don't watch leagues in Japan or Central America. No matter what it will not be close to the MLB for a very very long time. I could some day see MLB teams in Japan but Israel would be an incredibly long way away. Obviously the area isn't exactly the safest, most secure, or friendliest (I realize Israel is but not the Mid East). Also everyone knows Jews are bad athletes ;) JK

Being a Jew, I think it is good to have baseball in Israel. I heard a rumour that Israel might be a team in the World Baseball Classic.
Jewish baseball players in the MLB will be allowed to play for the national team.

Baseball should be played everywhere, its a wonderful game. As long as suicide bombers arent running onto the field, it should go over well.
