Yes. They can get fired from most workplaces if they speak their mind, since they hold bigoted, misogynistic, and hateful opinions. Yahoo will revoke their account and newspapers won't publish their rantings...It is fear that causes them to be so bitter.

They have had to develop 'code-speak' to get their opinions spoken. That is why "talking points" are so important to the far right. To doublespeak the hatefulness in an indirect way that they can't be called on.

There has also been a drive to make people THINK that political correctness prohibits far more than it does. Mentioning Christianity with other religions is always OK, proselytizing is not. The term 'illegal alien' will not get you fired, banned, or censored, but recognize that other people can disagree with you.

Just because some misguided individual in some small town decides to ban any talk or personal display of religion does not make them an authority that we who reject hate speech have to defend. It just shows that some people will go overboard with anything. And likely as not - the next group down on their enemy list, the ACLU, will likely be defending the free speech rights of religious people.

If there is one factor that will destroy American society as we know it, it will be the Political correctness movement.

Political correctness actually separates people more than it unites them. It defines people by the color of their skin rather than the content of their character. For example, PC says that a person who is a minority can expect certain jobs regardless of qualification, while a person of the majority can actually be discriminated upon by Color alone. PC also allows people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to bilk businesses on the basis of racial guilt.

Political correctness protects people based on minority status. Take the fact that the average terrorist has a much greater chance of being Arabic and male, but that watching said group is considered evil "racial profiling". Instead, for our own good feelings we are searching 80 year old African American ladies in wheelchairs. This is madness.

Political correctness allows illegal immigrants to demand free healthcare, welfare benefits, even credit cards. The average American pays for them, often at the cost of their own jobs.

The truth is that if you are American, you are just that, an American. Why must we give special benefits to all who claim discrimination when such discrimination is rare now?

Everyone should complain about the PC movement. PC seeks to stifle free speech with speech codes on campuses across the country. PC allows the most neurotic among us to set the rules of debate by outlawing words that have meaning opposed to liberal orthodoxy. PC seeks to interfere with our most basic human interactions when it imposes sexual harassment codes that cater to the oversensitive (Anita Hill v Thomas) Worse however is the changing of the definition of words to criminalize them (current angst over school children using the word gay as a pejorative, "that's so gay") Liberals love the PC movement because once the spineless are called names(racist sexist homophobic) intelligent debate of important issues goes away and then they believe they will be able to shackle the people with their fascist point of view

Lets see.
A school in CA can teach Isalm and kids get Islamic names BUT not the same for Christians.
All religious symbols are allow expect for Christianity.
You can't make racist remarks about all races expect for whites there you are allow to make racial slurs.

It is PC to degrade Rice call her a house slave or Powell an Uncle Tom but you can't say anything bad about Jessie Jackson or you are bigot.

Want another example.
A murder in on death row and Hollywood is defending him no because he didn't do the crime but he wrote a book.

Yet when the Duke Lacross team gets accused how many of the Hollywood types come to their aid.............
You got it zip.

PC has done nothing but keep the victim hood alive and well in America.

PC is tool liberals can use but they don't want to be held to any standard.

We conservatives do not complain about "political correctness". Next time you try to call conservatives names, I suggest you go back to school and learn to spell, first!

PC is a disputable thing. Everyone has different views on what is right and wrong. I'm pissed off about it at times because our schools are turning the next generation into a bunch of pansies who believe everything their told.

Not only conservatives complain about it. It's dumbing down the language and making topics necessary for discussion taboo as someone will get their panties in a bunch if they hear certain words.
