They started off as being a bit of harmless fun, but then they gained this cult status and that made the producers and studios constantly rehash the same plotline. They tried some variations on the theme, but couldn't get away from the simple fact it was a person chasing a load of horny teens and finding different ways to kill them. Ending with a final confrontation where the protagonist seems to have won, but hasn't as we all know Jason always comes back.

In some behind-the-scenes book, they did talk about how there were quite a few gay people in these movies...anyway, I love Friday the 13th movies. All horror movies.
