When I ask my Children to do a chore, I don't mean in an hour, or in 15 minutes. I don't care what they are doing, I mean now. With that said, If I know my child is doing homework, I will ask them to do something when they are done, I am not irrational about it. We must teach responsibility, when they get a job, the boss doesn't mean when they get arounto-it.

30 years ago we used to have a dime stored called T G & Y. That is where ALL of the "get arountoits" But guess what happened? The stock market crashed yet again and the damn things went bankrupt. Our kids today either have to learn to be more responsible or face the consequences. It is our downfall as the parent for giving in because it is much easier than giving in than to argue with them about it. Good Luck.

The quirky souvenir shops that you find in most holiday resorts (uk at least) sell small round stone like ornaments, that are called "a Round Tuit" --- next time you visit the beach or the like check in the towns souvenir shops

Yeah, I have some of them as well...My youngest leaves shoes on the stairs and will go up and down several times passing them, then when she's told she says " I'm just going to do it " Drives me mad.

My dad got them from his belt- LOL We definitely got around to it. For me- I think I would just positively encourage them and give them choices like
"Did you want to do dishes, or vacuum the living room." That way they still do work- but feel like it was their decision.
