I'm confused is this your first girlfriend? You should be close to your parents and be able to talk to them about anything for one. Secondly that saying about they weren't born yesterday is very true. I'm sure they know or sense it. Another thing what do you mean serious? I don't see how it can get so serious in 2 months...is she pregnant? or did you just have sex? I think your parents should know but only tell them when you feel ready don't intentionally keep it from them like go as far as telling lie's its not necessary. It matters alot when the girl you care about is respected by your parents give her the chance to make her impression. In the long run it will matter to you too. It sucks if a family member isn't accepted makes things very difficult and place stress on you & your girl. All relationships take time so give them that ability to have that.

I do not know how old you are, if you live at home, or how serious
your relationship is after 2 months. Other then talking to your parents about how just started dating and like this girl what would you want to tell them? What do you expect them to say? Need more details to help you further.

Your parents had you partly to share your lives. Do you eat supper together? That is the time of every day most families share the events of the day. Who you date should not be a secret and withholding only sends the message there is something wrong with your choice. Your life should be an open book to your parents...they deserve nothing less.

Mark, telling your parents about your relationship will not be that bad. Parents will understand, I am a parent and my two daughter has their own boyfriend,I made sure that my kids can come to me no matter what, they know that I love them dearly and I will do everything for them. And because of they're upbringing, they always tells me everything, and that what makes my heart fonder. Parents used to be teenagers and believe me,we've been there before. All you have to do is sit with your parents and tell them, and you'll see that they will not judge you for it.......good luck Mark

Just tell your parents that you have a special friend that you have been seeing for a couple of months and that yuo like for them to meet her. Then take them all out to dinner. That way if for some reason they don't like her, they will be less likely to cause a scene in public then they would be if you were at home.

Oh...don't tell them about anything that you are doing. Always be secretive about your friends...that will help instill a sense of distrust in them. Heaven knows that having your parents trust you is not something that anyone would want... One exception would be if she just happened to get a bit pregnant...then you might need to ask them for money.

Mark, have sex with your girlfriend and right after you "explode" call you parents and tell them how great she is and how "serious" the relationship is.

What are you afraid of, share the wonderful person in your life with your family, she is probably wondering why she has not met your parents yet?? Why is this such an issue, are you trying to hide something??
