The sad fact is most Americans do, in fact, march goosestep to the same kind of ideas that Bush touts: free market fundamentalism, unrestrained capitalism, America first, whatever-it-takes-to keep-prices-down-at-Walmart mentality, etc. They may, at this point, see Bush as ineffective, even stupid, in maintaining their overindulgent, spoiled way of life; but they still subscribe to the same destructive values that drove them to elect him in the first place.
There are other Americans, however, such as myself, who neither support Bush nor support the values that got him elected in the first place.

I am not from the US but I share your confusion as to how the US public has tolerated some particularly disastrous leadership.
After September 1 2001 there was not a western country that did not feel compelled to help the US in anyway possible to bring to justice the terrorist that killed so many people.
5 years on and with US $1 trillion dollars spent on Iraq I fail to see any value for money for the citizens of the USA.
With so many social problems, no free health care, the highest rate of prisoners in custody in the world and more fire arm deaths than its 10 biggest trading partners combined, the money could have been spent so much more positively. x

It depends.
Do you really think that: 'Average American' = 'Agrees with me?'

Yes. The average American wants good jobs, lower taxes and national security. We want everyone who wants the "AMERICAN DREAM" to earn it for themselves and not lining up to have it handed over to them like it they are entitled to it.

I am a "american" from the U.S. and I cannot stand Bush. I didn't vote for him, don't agree with his policies or anything.

absolutely not. just look at the polls. his approval rating on almost everything is below 50%. i'd say if the ratings were 50% or more then he would represent the average amerikan.

you don't vote a president in to blow with the wind. you vote them in and then let them lead. so who cares if the wind has turned... it might not have the ability to see as well into the future, or have as much information to base its choices on as that man that you voted your leader does.
