Look for a laptop, so you will have the ability to move it around with you. (Take to classes, study sessions, etc). The more memory and the larger the hard drive, the better.
As a music major (I am married to one) you will want to be sure that you set aside some of that $2000 for purchasing a couple of good music editing programs. Look for an good editor (like Cool Edit Pro) which will let you edit existing audio files. Also look for a midi program which will allow you to input music, you use the mouse to draw the notes right on the staff like sheet music, and then play it back using the midi function build into computer sound cards. It is invaluable for a music major. Plan on save $300-400 for the software.
Also, be sure to get a good set of speaker (purchase them separately) that includes sourround sound and a sub-woofer. Plan to set aside $100-150 for those. Again, it is a wise investment for a music major.
So that is going to leave you about $1200-1500 for the actual laptop itself. You can find many excellent ones in that price range.

probable, notwithstanding it will be a marginally arduous thanks to do issues. you should study the shown truth that way, yet ought to you actually be said to savour the channel Jehovah is utilizing at present? also, in case you prevented the classes which clarify our beliefs, how ought to you convince someone you agreed with them to the point of baptism? and how would you study with some different person, (as you should have a significant ministry with the intention to get baptised), and how would you clarify to them why you prevented the classes and nevertheless assume them to take you heavily as a Witness? There are some contradictions the following... Oh, only a final idea, do not pay any interest to those outdoors of the Witnesses own employer who remark or provide evaluations as to what you could or can not do - they do no longer comprehend the criteria and are frequently guessing or in simple terms speaking nonsense. As for the evaluations of 'former' Witnesses, deal with them with the contempt they deserve. they have proved themselves so unreliable as to break their own promise to stay be Bible criteria to the degree they had to both be removed from the congregation or left it as they couldn't spoil out with some thing the Bible, and hence God, says is incorrect. they don't look to be a straightforward source of advice. neither is absolutely everyone who labels us a cult. JW's lack each and each trait of a cult, (i comprehend, I regarded into at the same time as i became reading the Bible 20-atypical years in the past), and are absolutely no longer one!

You basically need a PC with lots of memory and a good processor speed. Save some of your money for a good external USB sound card, as these have much faster transfer rates for higher quality audio recording (they're as cheap as $100 and on up). Also save some money for programs like Reason, or Acid or Cubase or Logic, whatever floats your boat.
