you can't kill music... this stuff is immortal... (well... that is presumptuous!)

I don't think so... the classical style of composition (which is really just an era of symphonic composition) is still heavily inspirational to many genres of musical composition...

well..............
kind of.
many people prefer western than classical.even in the movies(most of the songs in movies are copies of western songs though).
listening or singing classical music is called old and uncool these days. when you go to a classical music concert, you can see that most of the people are above 25yrs of age, ie, no youth is present.
if this continues, some or the other day, classical music is definitely going to die. but still, the fact is that more than 55% of the people who learnt classical music teach it. and they are in a high demand.but still kids who learn classical music learn only upto 15yrs of age. later they leave it.

I thought so, but, after seeing the programme 'Ede Thumbi Haduvenu" (I will sing with full heart) in ETV Kannada, where the talent of Children is exposed, now, I don't think so. There are many talented children who pursue classical music and are the future musicians.

Yes, western influence is there, but, it will not make our classical music die.

i agree with this very muchas western culture is more influence .we are forgetting our culture.this is slowly spreading to classical music.like it not bad to adopt a culture ,but it should be in such a way that we don't forget our own culture and the way we lived.
