I think that alcohol presents a MUCH bigger threat to our society -just look at how many people die on the road because of drunk drivers (just one consideration - not to mention all of the "domestic violence" and other crimes that are influenced by having alcohol involved).
I don't know about legalization - I really think that it all comes down to "economics" - if they DID legalize it, I'm sure that the government would make sure to get "their cut" of the profits!

Whatever the case, people need to realize the possible dangers of each, and be RESPONSIBLE for their actions. Far too many innocent people end up paying the price for someone else's "good time." We should have MUCH more severe punishments for drunk driving - my heart aches for those families who have lost loved ones to some idiot who got behind the wheel when he was drunk!

Alcohol is far worse, its a drug but because its in a drink people dont see it the same. If alcohol was in a pill form it would be in with all the rest.

While I don't smoke marijuana- I believe that the drug war is a waste of money. It has not slowed it down and it reminds me of another time in the country called "prohibition." Personally I would like to see it legalized and possibly regulated and taxed by the government (but not distributed by them). Alcohol is just as much of a gateway drug as pot.

Yes I do. You can't possibly control the use of any drug, including alcohol, or inform people about it if you prohibit it and force it underground. In my view it's not as harmful as alcohol by any stretch of the imagination; having said that, it's more likely to provoke serious mental problems.

I do think it should be legalized because it is far less harmful than drinking,

However I think that being under the influence while ( working, driving, etc, etc should be illegal ) the same rules should apply for pot as drinking.

We could use that tax money to start another war.

I don't think that it's worse than Alcohol. I think that it is much safer and that people who are high are much less likely to be a disturbance than people who are drunk. Plus it is a plant. I think that if anything should be illegal, it should be Alcohol.
