Actually, it's what math you'll study while you're studying physics, not before.

The minimum in high school should be algebra, geometry, trig, and analytic geometry. If your high school offers it, add calculus.

In college, plan on calculus and differential equations. Beyond that you may need advanced algebra, vector analysis, and matrix algebra.

In school, you can take a watered down physics course with algebra. To do a decent job, you'll need calculus.

Some calculus "derivation & integration"
Some trignometry

Algebra and trig are a must, Calculus is helpfull, but also a must for college level
