A dacoity is an armed robber, robbery involves violence or the threat of it, and burglary doesn't. In the UK anyway.

bur·gla·ry
The act of entering a building or other premises with the intent to commit theft.

In D.C. there are Burglary I and Burglary II...one of which is entering while the person or persons are in the residence [which carries a harsher charge/punishment]

Robbery:

The act or an instance of unlawfully taking the property of another by the use of violence or intimidation.

Dacoity

Robbery by a band or gang of dacoits.

Dacoity is robbery by a group or gang

Robbery is taking someone's money by actually threatening them (with a gun or knife, for example)

Burglary is taking someone's stuff when they are not in the house.
