He's one of the biggest talent agents in England. Good or bad, he was solely responsible for The Spice Girls. blech........ But he does know what he's talking about.

The same way a 'scout' comes around to high schools and picks the best atheletes! These scouts are obviously not good enough to play for professional or even amateur teams. Yet they have the skill and knowledge it takes to 'discover' new athletes. Another example would be: You don't have to be able to sing. You don't have to be able to write a song. You don't have to be able to play a song, IN ORDER TO KNOW IF YOU LIKE A SONG OR NOT. :-) Simon got to where he is because of what he CAN do. And that's discover new talent and make bookoos of money from it ;-)

No he doesnt according the link below he got a job in the music industry because his father got his a job there in the mail room. Through his father connections he worked his way up, but his history doesnt saying about his knowning musical notes or playing any instruments. So the true question is, how can we believe Simon really knows what a good singer really is?

he may not be able to sing or play an instrument, but he has been in the business for years, and knows what will work and what wont; I like simon cowell, and respect his opinion. At least in the usa you have two other judges that are good - here in the uk, we have two idiots - sharon osbourne and louis walsh!!!!

He's just a very good business man with no musical skills. How credible can he be? Just look how far off he was about Jennifer Hudson.

"whilst the Moon hits your eye like a super pizza Pie, it fairly is AMORE" ... that became the subject for Moonstruck - an previous Nicholas Cage / Cher comedy. It became not a musical yet i like Dean Martin making a track that track and that i enjoyed the action picture very lots.

I'd like to know that too. What makes him so credible? My friend from Lee is on there now. His name is Phil. Good Luck!

His musical gifts are different from the front line entertainers. He's gifted in the eyes, ears and believe it or not "heart." I love him (now).
