who's really the sidekick, spongebob or patrick?

I say Sponge Bob.
Patrick just wants to have fun and Sponge Bob is a follower, not a leader.

Patrick is the sidekick, Spongebob is definitely the main featured character in the show, and Patrick isn't nearly as smart as Spongebob is. Patrick is only there to make you laugh at his stupidity and crazed antics, which pretty much makes him a sidekick.

Since the cartoon is titled SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, Patrick would be Spongebobs sidekick, otherwise it would be called the PATRICK show and he would live in a pineapple under the sea.
