Orbs are tricky because its hard to tell what’s paranormal and what’s just a weird light reflection or dust. I do believe that Ghost can appear as small globes of light. It would be easier to manifest that way because it takes up less energy.

As people above have pointed out, not all orb sightings are legit. Some are lens flares (Easy to distinguish). Most are dust particles (Not so easy to tell). In the paranormal community there are specific guidelines as to what exactly constitutes a real orb. A real orb is the resting state of spirit energy- basicly when it's not activly trying to manifest, or while it's gathering energy. It is determined by two main features that make it easier to distinguish from dust. 1- it glows with it's own inner light, not reflected light like the moon. 2- it moves along a specific path, not drifting like dust does in air currents. It's also usually faster than dust, but not always. You have to take into consideration drafts, and air conditioning. I recently went to St Augustine, and took a lot of pictures. I got tons of dust orbs, but I also got one VERY good light orb in a cemetary, and a couple decent real orbs. It's a matter of experience, and luck in my oppinion

I am a cameraman and photographer and orbs are - dust. You get them all the time and they are simply particles reflecting. I can't believe that Most Haunted has run into so many series and they bang on and on about orbs week after week knowing full well what they are - they've earnt millions through dust!
I think people need to realise that Most Haunted is purely an entertainment programme packaged up as a documentery and is no different to Ghostwatch.

I saw lights at the foot of my bed in one apartment I had. I also saw many orbs in pictures of that room all over the place. There is no light source at the foot of my bed. It was bright as all heck, I did not have more than 15 watt bulbs in the nightstand lamps at the head of the bed, and no lights at the foot, yet there it was at the foot of my bed.
They can explain the hell out of the orbs, but I saw light, white light at the foot of my bed, no one can explain it. It was the entire length of the bed, it wasn't circles, just light. It wasn't dust, or particles reflecting. You would have to have a light with 200 watt bulb to reflect that brightly anyway, and mine were no where near that (15). Tell me scientists, what happened???

Orbs are created by light hitting the camera lens. I like ghost stories, too, but this is an easy explanation. We see what we want to see.
Good luck!

Yep - not quite sure of their origins - I know it is not just my own mind projecting them as out of the blue one came in through my bathroom window when my brother was using the bathroom - he was quite shocked and called me to ask if I had seen it. On this occasion I did not but I have seen at other times both inside and outside of my home.
By the way the ones I usually see and the one my brother saw is about the size of a tennis ball, sometimes they are slightly larger and other times slightly smaller but not as small as a golf ball. They have been seen in daylight as well as in pitch black.

I don't know what they are but I think "Most Haunted" and alike have a lot to answer to, I would have dismissed them as all the above had I not watched these programs, now I find myself questioning my judgement. No I haven't actually seen one, so I guess until I do I shall remain sceptical and lean towards the scientific.

"Orbs" are reflections from dust particles.
Orbs are relatively modern phenomena, and are most often seen when there is a short distance (acute angle of reflection) between the illuminating flash and the lens.
