Papier mache is actually spelled that way, ignore other people. Doing a web search for papier mache is a good start...there are many recipes for making it yourself, or you can buy a variety of types at art stores. I personally prefer using the old flour/water with newspaper style to cover "skeletons" if I'm creating something larger, or celluclay if I need to make smaller things with details.

Papier mache is actually spelled paper mache and all it is is flour and water mix till it is very smooth--usually it is good to use more flour than water. and it is very messy

go to your local liberary. there plenty of books showing you howto get started,what you need and how to do it step by step.plus it's free.
