Is the room being provided furnished with a bed? If so I would demand a new bed lord only knows what is crawling in that one. If they are not providing a bed then go out and buy your own.

I've always been provided with new mattresses. The only time no-one would expect it is in some b&b.

You're getting their deposit, and pocketing the interest earned from it, and should be able to invest a little into a relationship that you hope will be sustained. The fact that you are asking, makes me doubt the suitability of it for someone else.

Go on! Good luck! Rob

I don't think they 'have' to, but they do have to ensure it is clean enough to meet the standards on the condition report of the property. So if you signed something on that it should tell you the condition the mattress was in at the time you moved in etc. If this is not on there, then I would ask about that as well. Good luck :-)

The landlord could provide a second decent mattress and I think they should..if they want to keep you there. You should purchase your own bedding and take it with you when you go.

I would anticipate a landlord should supply the appropriate bedding in a hygenic condition.

You should feel lucky they are providing you a bed...if you don't like the one they are nice enough to provide, go get your own

Depends how much you are paying and what you expect to get.
