I'm almost 20 weeks & I HATE the days where baby isn't active. I know there will be days where I don't feel baby. But I HATE IT!
I had spotting early on, so every day I don't feel baby, my mind wonders....UGH! Anyone else feel this way?

I feel the exact same way as you. I also had spotting...a few times 10,18, ad 20 weeks. I'm 25 weeks now. So like you, everytime the baby isn't active I worry. I absolutely hate the way it makes me feel. I start getting anxiety over it. On the flip side, when the baby does move, I'm overjoyed. It's the best feeling in the worly and brings a significant happiness to my life instantly. I always smile when I feel the baby. I'm right there with you....and I can't wait till the baby is born and I can see it and know it's doing well.

One thing that has eased my mind is I rented a fetal doppler from babybeat.com. It's just like the one my Dr. has. I think it's like $25/month.

I did not have that problem but I can certainly see why you would be concerned every time I so much as had a headache I worried about the baby. However I do have an idea that might be able to put you at ease when the baby is not active. There are these like portable monitors that you can buy. You put the headset on and listen to the babies heart beat. I have even seen them at my local walmart for right around 20 dollars. Of course I found them after I had my baby but if I ever have another that is going to be the first thing that I buy.

Babies are active every day, 20 weeks is still a little early to feel much movement. My advice is relax and enjoy this, By 30 weeks the constant beating of your self from the inside, disturbing your sleep, making you unable to get comfortable, smashing into your bladder, will get on your nerves. I was like you at this point of my first pregnancy, by 30 weeks I decided I hated being pregnant, I had 3 more children after my first .. lol

Don't get stressed out. Stress can lead to problems! Just relax and let nature do it's thing. It's hard when so much is happening and you feel like your not in control, but your body is doing the best it can for your baby. I had spotting at 5 months and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I still had a healthy baby! Near the end you will feel your baby kick all the time! Your baby is most likely sleeping a lot, trying to grow! Just relax and prepare yourself for motherhood.

when I was pregnant every time I had an active day and came home exhausted. Just as I would lie down, the baby would choose that moment to go nuts.
I and all that spotting too and a lot of bed rest at either end of the pregnacy.

Some movement within 24 hours is considered normal
get a cheap stethoscope it will make you feel better to hear the baby's heart beat!

I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I was diagnosed with a high risk pregnancy after I nearly miscarried at 16 weeks, I have placenta previa, a haematoma and a leakage in my amniotic fliud. (But this little girl REALLY wants to be in this wold!)

I know that now at 30 weeks, it is unlikely anything will happen to my baby girl, even if she was born prematurely, and I also know that there is no sign that there is anything wrong with her, but I still panic when I don't feel her kick.

There are days when she kicks constantly, but I get edgy and nervous on the days when she is less active (like today - ARGH!).

I hope everything goes OK for you, good luck!

;-)

HAHA! dont worry about the spotting unless its ALOT and if its really red, but naturally tell yoru dr everything but i did the same thing and ti went away and my son was full force everyday by the 6th month!!

I felt that way at the end - I guess the last month, when the baby hardly moves at all; there is just no room. It was hard to see everything was okay, because he had gone from being a championship soccer player in there, to hardly moving. Found out it was totally normal, but there was something satisfying about the kicking, even when it hurt!

At 20 wks, you'll have many times that you can't feel the baby. RELAX, stressing over it won't help! Don't worry, in a few weeks the baby will be bigger and more active so you'll feel it more. I'm 38 wks and I feel the baby all the time, though now that it's really big it squirms more than kicking/bouncing. :)

I totally feel this way too, I am a nervous wreck all the time, a lot of people close to me have lost their babies and it just freaks me out!!! I am already 28 weeks and he is supposed to be moving more and more and I feel like he just doesn't move enough sometimes. I am going to the midwife in 2 hours so I am going to mention it to her. My midwife also told me to not be afraid to push and play with the belly to wake them up when you haven't felt them. Most likely we just need to not worry because everything will be okay! Congrats on the baby!!!
