I think the weather in Kentucky is messed up, we just had 3inches of snow, now today, we have thunderstorms, with possible tornado's, and tomorrow, we're, supposed to have snow flurries, what the? I do believe we have effected our planet, but i don't know if we could have actually changed our climate, this much. good questions though.

Global warming is a global trend that is not the result of a single season, rather a century of weather trends. It is not a regional occurrence and does cause cooling and warming. The warming part only derives from the fact that the polar ice caps are melting. This effect ocean currents, which control weather.

I am amazed at home many people will debunk the theory without even knowing the simple factors that play into it.

Well, I am a conservative and I have no problem in confirming that what I have studied indicates that the earth has warmed and may be continuing to warm slightly.

Also from my study, I have learned that there are a lot of scientific research ON BOTH SIDES of the debate that have strong basis that lead to completely different conclusions.

Overall, I have decided, based on what I have been able to discern from the available science on the topic that the warming of the planet is the result of MANY influences, but that the activities of humans doesn't add up to the MAJOR causes for the warming.

As recently as yesterday, I read a newspaper article that reported that COWS produce more greenhouse emissions than just about any other source in America.

I believe that there are two basic groups involved here, both with agendas. On the left are the global warming alarmist, who I have discovered through my own personal survey are composed primarily of people that are socialistic with regard to their stance on government and economy. On the right are the proponents of the free market and capitalism. I think that the socialist are trying to create enough "fear" in elected officials to prompt sweeping regulations that hamper the exercise of those in the free market and capitalism crowd.

And my response to "Flaming Baby Head": I think there are a lot of people out there, both conservative AND liberal that have there heads in places they don't belong. And I think that some from both camps are mere parrots of the ideological spunk being distributed by both republicans and democrats.

I honestly don't see much of a difference amongst the two camps in terms of people that resort to hate speech and diatribe rather than true debate. BOTH are equally guilty and BOTH have no defence.

However, as regards the global warming issue, I have concluded that it takes FAR more "FAITH" to believe the global warming pitch that the other sides views. Therefore, I conclude that you are in fact a "true believer" that tries (much like some Christians) to "prove" their "faith" through "scientific" means.

So, to all the global warming enthusiasts out there, please enjoy the constitutionally guaranteed freedom to practice your religion, but don't be so outraged (just like any other "true believer) when not everyone buys into your faith based beliefs.

Thank you.

I agree with Cappi. Global warming is a theory that some people have jumped on and now believe the theory is real. I have read the arguments on both side and have come to the conclusion that no one really knows what is going on and it will require more study.

I am all for cleaning up and reducing pollution, but to do it in a manner that does not improve the quality of life or imposes strict limits on businesses or taxes them to death is not the answer either.

Good question. I notice that everyone jumps on you saying that you are denying that the earth is getting warmer. I don't read that in this question at all. This is a simple observation that LESS noise was made about the cold spell we had because it doesn't work with the "People Bad" global warming crowd. On the other hand, the spring storms can be made to support ANY data that you want them to. It's SPRING people, weather gets crazy in the spring. What about record number of HURRICANES we had last year? Oh yeah, nevermind....

Nothing the liberals do is funny. They are a scary bunch of coconuts. Gore's monthly electric bill is more than my annual total and he runs his mouth about what You and I can do to cure his problem. Los Angeles county was reporting record low temperatures all summer during 2006. I am working in Nebraska right now and freezing temps are the norm. I am praying for global warming. Bring it on. Today! You can't even trust a lib to read a thermometer. Could someone please compute the annual average temperature gain of the planet since global warming started in the middle of the ice age. It is 8am and it is going to be a hot one today, we are already up to 25 degrees.

I have lived in this part of the South for many years. Wacky weather is the rule, not the exception, in these parts.

The winters here have been so weird, for so long, the locals have coined terms, such as dogwood winter to describe the various types. Dogwood winter was coined a long time before Al Gore invented Tennessee.

you have defined Al Gore. Reject the potential guzzling mansion and preaching. The earth has sessions of heat temperature and chilly over hundreds of years, so any organic phenomenon should not be preached against and a modest abode might use much less potential.
