where is your life line in palm reading? also which hand and how do you determine a long life as aposed to a life cut short etc... any info would be great i'm trying to help my 14 yr old with a project. thanks!!

it is a science project. they are comparing things such as palm reding etc w/ modern medical test to disprove or prove the wifes tales and such.

Life line is the one that curves around the Mound of the Sun (the big fleshy pad of your thumb.) Look at how deep or defined it is, and how linear--if it has "chains" or breaks, it indicates a serious illness later in life. The other main lines are the Intellect line (the one directly above--and sometimes connected to--the life line, it sort of goes at a slant) and the Heart line (the one that usually starts between your index and middle fingers and goes across your palm.
Also, as for using your dominant hand, the general practice for more in-depth palm reading is to use the NON-dominant hand to show someone's potential fate, and their dominant hand to show their fate after taking into account the changes they've made in their life so far.

You use the dominant hand, that is, the one that is used for writing, etc. (And as far as it being false, person above me, she didn't ask if it was an actual practice, she asked a question that you didn't answer.) I don't believe in Chiromancy either, but here is the answer! This line extends from the edge of the palm above the thumb and travels in an arc towards the wrist. This line is believed to represent the person's vitality and vigor, physical health and general well being. The life line is also believed to reflect major life changes, including cataclysmic events, physical injuries, and relocations. Contrary to popular belief, modern palmists generally do not believe that the length of a person's life line is tied to the length of a person's life.

your lifeline is the one that kind of curves around your thumb. you should look at the dominant hand. (right handed or left handed)
it actually starts up by the index finger. any lines going off it indicate something significant that has happened (or will).
