I'm curious to know if many pregnant women have also had this happen to them...they were a pinky colour and now they are much darker.
How long will this last? Will they change back after I'm done breastfeeding?

My wife's did the same thing when she was preg...they will get very sensitive too. And when that baby bites down on your nip...OWWW look out.....good luck w/that!

It's normal in pregnancy. They change colors so that once the baby is born it helps them when it comes to breastfeeding. The baby can't recognize or have clear distinction of outlines but the darker coloring helps the baby to find the nipple to feed from. I'm not sure how long it lasts but I know mine are way darker than normal.

Mine got much darker when I was pregnant (both times) and did fade back to their normal colour after.. although I cannot remember if it was after I stopped breastfeeding (its been awhile)..

Mine got darker with each pregnancy to get ready for breastfeeding but they also never went back to that pretty pink color.

yes this is normal- it's the same reason you get the dark line below your belly button. Eventually your areolas will probably get much darker too- it goes away eventually-- (after pregnancy.. not breastfeeding)

p.s. my daughter is 3 weeks old and i just looked down to check and they are already back to 'normal' color-- so it should go away after birth- =)

The color change is totally normal. They may go back to normal color but from what I have heard and experienced they do tend to stay a tad bit darker.

That is part of being pregnant, and like your waistline they will never be quite the same again.
