my mom was born there, not sure why you going there, it's really a very small village, not much to do or see unless you have people you staying with and visit, but everything is very close here in holland, it's a small country so you can visit lots by bus/train, Utrecht is the nearest big city and it's a cool town. enjoy your stay

I'm not from there but have been there a few times and am going back on Friday.

In my opinion it's the prettiest city I have ever been to, the canals are picturesque and the Dutch are so polite, even if you take a trip down to the RLD the red lights are pretty. Although the RLD is great fun it is a shame that anyone under the age of 30 thinks that it is just about getting stoned, there is so much more to do there.

You can do everything in 2-3 days, there is so much history in Dam. And ideal for a weekend with only an hours flight, and so many good deals.

I hope you decide to go and have a great time.

I'm not from there but I was there just passing by. I did not see anything worth visiting there, really and sorry to disappoint you! Utrecht and Zwolle are much bigger cities nearby, but in my opinion Amsterdam is much nicer!
Have fun!
