NO. that's cruel...
The head holds all the main organs...if it is cut off - the worm dies. If the worm is severed posterior to the clitellum, the tail might grow back. The severed tail just dies. Some worms have been found to have two tails after receiving an injury to the posterior end. A new tail grew from the injured area.

my brother and I used to dig for worms and then cut or tear them in half so we could have more. We thought it did not hurt them, cuz they kept moving for a long time. I found out it really killed them and I felt so bad about it ever since
