It is a romantic comedy. The heroine's best friend tells her that she has found the heroine's boyfriends profile on an internet dating site. When the heroine confronts the boyfriend he tells her that it is just the guys at work pulling a prank on him. Later the best friend ends up setting up a fake date with the boyfriend and convinces the heroine to come along to the pub to see if he turns up. Unfortunately he does.
I can't remember anything else or even who any of the actors are in it. It must be at least over a year old - and sometime between 2000 and 2006.

I haven't seen a movie like that but that happened in that tv show Six Degrees.

First thought was Must Love Dogs. I haven't seen the whole movie though but that was what first came to mind.
