Yes, many aquatic organisms live very deep in the ocean, and so could not depend upon sunlight directly. Indirectly, I do blive these living creatures feed on organisms that eat phytoplankton, etc which is dependent on sunlight some way or another.

We know there are organisms that can live without sunlight. Scientists have found both biological and botanical living organisms in caves. There are also aquatic creatures in the deepest depths of the oceans.

There are bacteria that will die in sunlight, in the bottom of the Marianas trench (the deepest point in the ocean) There is no sunlight and living organisms. There are bacteria that live in our intestinal tract and never see the light of day. There are plenty of living simple organisms that do not require light.
