The Two are One, meaning both have the same result:
A) When you try to feel better, it will affect the other people around you, and usually causes most of them to feel better. (This is why sad, miserable, or depressed people tend to negatively affect and "lower the mood" of the people closest to them.) However, if you try to feel better THAN other people, you will actually not only hurt others, but also hurt yourself in the long run.
B) When you try to make others feel better, this will also make you feel better about your Self, and your own spirits are raised. (Incidentally, this is why volunteering is often recommended for depressed people.)
They both have the same end result.

My answer is a bit more complicated than a simple A or B. Given only the 2 choices though I'd say B

I believe we are here to experience as an individual and to help each other. We all have many purposes.
One of my purposes, my call you could say is to share for others to see as I do.
We are everything and everything is one; to love and to respect ourselves, each other and our beautiful planet.

It's 'B', plus making yourself feel better, too (but not better than everyone else).
You can't have one without the other because then your life would be unbalanced.
