"Platinum Series Extended" versions are the giant boxes that have like 4 discs, and "Theatrical and Extended" has 2 discs. Besides the amount of discs and artwork on boxes, is there any difference between the two (i.e. bonus material, special features, deleted scenes)?

There may be some miniscule differance in the bonuses but in truth its just the entertainment industry trying to sucker in more buyers for the same movie. Like the Star Wars series, first they release Episodes 1-3 then the special editions of Eps 4-6 and then the non special editions of 4-6 and I know they are going to eventually relase all eps together and try and make even more money with "Bonus never before seen footage." While if it didn't make it into all the other releases...what makes it worth it now?

Same cut of the movie...one set just doesn't contain all the extra features.
