Nope. They won't let you for several reasons. The drop in blood sugar. The drop in iron level. The fact that your body needs ALL of the extra blood it is producing right now. The amount of hormones in you blood. Just to name a few.

I don't think it is a good idea they may not except you right now, because you would be taking nutrients away from the baby and then put yourself at risk for being anemic, the baby is taking so much away right now that is why you are on iron pills. It would be different if it were a dire situation and they really needed a special type of blood. just wait, you are already donating right now to your unborn child.

Nope - and when you go to give blood after having the baby you have to wait for as many weeks as you have been pregnant...ie if you give birth at 38 weeks, you have to wait until your child is 38 weeks old before you can donate...

I got told no by one of the nurses taking blood when i went with my other half and he also said that you have to be not pregnant longer than you were pregnant before you can give blood again for example say you give birth at 39 weeks you would have to wait till the baby was like 40 weeks old before you could give blood again

"Q Why are pregnant women unable to donate?
A Although no problems have been reported, the safety of donating blood during or shortly after pregnancy has not been fully established. There may be medical risks to mother and baby if a blood donation is made while pregnant or shortly after pregnancy."
http://www.givebloodredcross.org/rc/donate/donate_blood_faqs.asp
Yet another one of those "we dunno, we just won't take the risk" things.

I would not!!! Why would you want too!!! You need everything you have right now. Baby takes a lot more than you think he/she does!!! YOu need all your blood, all your nutrients, and all your energy for the next 10 weeks!!!
After you have the baby and are well, then give blood!!!

Please do not. YOu need all the blood u have for you and baby. Pregnant women are at increased risk of anemia - low iron levels.
