Hi, it is good to answer a few questions that you should ask yourself. Like the ones listed here:

1) Did I ovulate? If so, when? It is good to know when and whether you ovulated in this cycle. This is a very good piece of information to have to find out why there is a delay in your period. Because, if you do not have any luteal phase defect, the luteal phase usually lasts for about 14 days (+ or - 2 days normally) before your period starts (in case you have had protected intercourse). So if you ovulated later than usual, your period follows suit and will be delayed accordingly.

2) Does my BBT chart indicate a dip in temperature below the coverline? If you have been charting you will find that your temperatures remain above the coverline during the luteal phase (post-ovulatory phase). So if you find a dip in temperarure below the coverline, your period might start that day. If it doesn't then take the temperature again the next day and if that again is lower than the coverline, then your period will soon follow without any doubt.

3) About your pinkish blood, it depends on whether you are just spotting and not actually bleeding like a menstrual period. Depending on when you ovulated, if it has not been even 7-12 days or so since you ovulated, fertilization has occured and it could be the "implantation bleeding" as many would call it. So everything boils down to whether you ovulated and if so when.

4) Well all the above said, in case you have not ovulated at all, then there is no chance that you can be pregnant and your actual bleeding will start sometime soon and will be referred to as "anovulatory bleeding".

Hope this helps. If you haven't been noticing the temperatures and ovulation and would like to test for pregnancy, please wait atleast a week after your longest cycle so far has passed to test clear any doubts just in case.

Of course if you've been engaging in intercourse there's a possibility. But many factors can change the timing and/or appearance of your period. Some of the most common are: increased stress levels, increase or decrease in physical activity, changes in sexual activity, change in birth control and other medications, hormonal imbalance, and dramatic weight loss.

The references below might also help in answering your question. Hope you find the information useful. If you weren't planning a pregnancy, and you're worried about it, don't panic. Cycle abnormalities happen to most of us at some point. If you DO turn out to be pregnant, congratulations and best of luck!

If you are having unprotected sex there is always a possibility of becoming pregnant.. Let me remind you though that the month of Feb. only has 28 days in it so this can change your normal cycle dates becasue there is less time between the first of Feb. and the first of March.
