Walking down a street or just strolling a mall in the Philippines, I may find PC games which has no box only the CD without the pictures of the game and movies that are on DVD but aren't release and also put in a burn disc.

Is Piracy sweeping the world as I know it?

Not really. In the Western world where law enforcement is more observant the MPAA will ruin your life if they catch you downloading a movie illegally and the courts will sit back and laugh at you. The music industry however is not as savvy.

It's getting harder some of the P2P software companies like Limewire don't want to get sued so they are now starting to monitor somewhat what's going on when it comes to software trading. If there are any places that sell pirated wares here in the US it's kept pretty secret.
