I'm getting a chinchilla and a friend of mine told me that they go crazy to the color yellow. Is that true or is she lying?

A chinchilla is a small rodent almost the size of a rabbit when grown. They are cute and make nice pets for what they are. They are fairly clean and easy to care for. Make sure you buy a book or go on line to find out about some of their special needs.

They have been used by the fur industry for a long time.

Most animals are color blind so the yellow is news to me.

As others have said, chinchillas are smallish cute rodents, look a bit like a cross between a bunny and a squirrel.
The yellow thing? I think your friend was just jerking you around and/or commenting on how they look like Pikachu from Pokemon (he's yellow and looks a lot like a cartoon version of a chinchilla)

A chinchilla is a furry rodent that is often used for fur coats. They have soft and very dense fur. They like dust baths. They must be kept in cool environments (no more than 75F) as they can not sweat.

I don't know about the yellow thing. I do know that they will gnaw on things so you will want to keep it caged unless you are paying close attention to it.
