I'm 27 years old and about to be a first time mommy but I'm wondering if I'm starting to get too old to talk about how much I love anime. I've been into it since I was 7, thanks to my dad, and I have no desire to quit watching. I spend well over 100 bucks a week on anime dvds, trust me I can afford it, and I've seen just about any anime out there. I go to conventions and own a lot of anime memorbilia, hehe. Just want to know if there are any others out there just like me who love anime. Thanks for reading!!!

sweetie lots of grown ups still view and collect anime, because the quality is so much better than the commercial exploitive schlock they make in the states.
The stories, art work, and the characters are so delightful.

The exception to anime, is the sleazy stuff that men & teen boys get off on - the Hentai garbage.

When your little one is old enough some day he or she will enjoy watching & going through your collection With you, & wil want it as a fond keep sake of you to keep in the family, when you pass on to the next world.

cheers babe!!!

I'm 29 and I still love them, but I don't spend as much nowadays. After 20 years of reading, they're beginning to sound all very familar. I only follow 3 mangas at the moment and I borrow some from the public library. You can save money by renting manga & DVDs - some just aren't good enough for the 2nd attention anyway. I also buy 2nd hand, most manga fans keeps them in very good condition. You can usually save 50% of the items.

Don't know why people always think that manga/anime is childish. Information is better express with graphics. It really depends on the type of story. There are some very serious ones like "The Graves of the Fireflies". (love it! very sad~)

I've been a manga/anmie fan since I was 5, and I'm planning to be a fan until I drop dead at 100. :P

Lucky baby you'll have! I wish my mom were anime fan! lol! My mom always nag me about reading "real" books when I was small. I read more books than anymore in the house. reading manga doesn't stop you from reading books, just makes your mind more graphic oriented. I wouldn't turn out to be architect/artist if I didn't love these drawings so much.

oh i just turned 23 and i still love anime, started when i was young too, like yeah maybe 6 or 7, first anime i watched was Candy Candy and Voltes V, then later on DBZ and Sailormoon. i also got obssessed with Yu Yu Haksuho's Kurama when i was a teenager.

i guess im not a real otaku coz i dont go to conventions and buy figures or collectible, i just love watching anime and reading mangas, and i also draw =) right now as i type im even listening to an online anime radio!

anyways, this should be something to pass to your kid, like how your dad passed it to you. you actually learn values from anime, dont you think?

Clearly some anime are created for certain age groups but that doesn't mean you should feel guilty by watching them. Think of it as research to pass on to your new child. No age limit to enjoy good anime or manga.

26 year old married father of four. Still an anime fiend. No plans on becoming otherwise. Live tv/movies are generally crap (especially in america).

Sure, why not? We all have our tender points toward something. If animation is yours, and there is nothing you couldn't watch in front of children. At least it's a healthy hobby. Good for you.
