I have found them not to be well versed in thier areas of expertise and I'm not really comfortable with that. Are you? Discuss.

Why do Physicians think they have the right to be arrogant? Probably because they are both better and richer than you are.

Everybody today is overworked but that is not an excuse for being rude, arrogant or undereducated. If a physician does not meet your criteria, find yourself a new one. I was often transferred to a new city for my work. On the average I had to go through 3 physicians before I found one I liked. You deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and so does the doctor. Just keep trying new physicians until you find a good one. They are out there!

They should be well versed, at least in the US. Continuing education is required to keep your license. If you fail to follow procedures published on new methods or warnings on old methods you lose malpractise cases.
As an example, Doctors have been told to no longer prescribe anti-botics hilly nilly like they used to. In the old days you had a sniffle they shot you up with Pennicllin. Today three infectious symptoms are required for anything stronger than Dimatap.
That means you need a fever, swollen glands and a sore throat before they'll even consider something like Tetracycline or E-Mycin which has minimal side effects in anyone.

most doc's are overworked and stressed out with too much getting sued and high insurance premiums and slow payments from the same insurance companies. their wives are mad because they don't spend enough time with their family and all day long and most of the night they have to deal with sick people.
This causes a lot of doctors to die early (and they are not always in the best of health as they don't pratice what they preach a lot") so they too can get a little uptight and arrogant..its just what they do.

I'm not comfortable with the fact that the majority of them are arrogant. I do not like to be treated as if I'm second class.
When I come across a Dr. as such, I never return to their office.

Because since they're saving lives all the time and whatnot, they think they're elevated to God-status.
